Quizás alguien me recuerde de julio de este verano, cuando prometí volver… ¡Sheee´s baaack! Aquí estoy, de vuelta en España, de vuelta en Madrid, unos meses después. Volver a Madrid fue como volver a casa, incluso el tiempo era el mismo a pesar del cambio de estación:) Aunque hay algunas diferencias aquí y allá, y creo que son para mejor.
En primer lugar, te sientes mucho más cómodo cuando estás rodeado de otros voluntarios-compañeros y sabes que todos estáis en una situación similar, así que puedes hablar con ellos y compartir tus sentimientos. Creo que el voluntariado es una forma estupenda de hacer nuevos amigos de diferentes culturas y países.
Los demás voluntarios son simpáticos, inteligentes y amables, y me alegra pasar tiempo con ellos. El otro día planeamos un gran viaje por Andalucía con algunos de ellos, y viajar, sobre todo en compañía de tus amigos, es algo que me encanta mucho hacer y con lo que siempre he soñado.
La lengua española no es fácil, desde luego. A veces te lleva mucho tiempo pensar antes de decir algo, a veces sientes que no puedes bromear y como que borra tu personalidad. Pero me recuerdo a mí misma justo este verano, cuando no podía hablar con nadie porque tenía mucho miedo de cometer errores, y comparándome conmigo ahora, ¡es una diferencia enorme! Creo que los niños te ayudan mucho, algunos están encantados de enseñarte algunas palabras, pero dependiendo de su edad tienes que comprobar el significado jaja.
También me disfruta trabajar en mi asociación. Estos días tengo más responsabilidades y, además, no me da miedo tomar la iniciativa y preparar actividades para los niños. Mis compañeros allí son simpáticos y nos apoyamos mucho mientras trabajamos.
En definitiva, estoy deseando empezar a prepararme para la Navidad y el puente que viene, así que os deseo a todos los que lo leáis que paséis un buen día y unas maravillosas vacaciones. ¡Hasta pronto!

Daria: Returning for ten more months.
Maybe someone remembers me from July this summer, when I promised to come back… Well, she’s baaack! Here I am, back in Spain, back in Madrid, a few months later. Returning to Madrid was like coming home, even the weather was the same despite seasons changing. Although there are a few differences here and there, and I believe they are for the better.
First of all, you feel much more comfortable when you’re surrounded by other volunteers-teammates and you know that you all are in a similar situation, so you can talk to them and share your feelings. I believe that volunteering is a great way to make new friends from different cultures and countries.
Other volunteers are friendly, intelligent and kind, and I’m happy to spend time with them. We planned a big trip in Andalucia with some of them just other day, and travelling, especially in company of your friends, is something I enjoy doing a lot and always dreamt of.
Spanish language is not easy, of course. Sometimes it takes you long time to think before you say something, sometimes you feel like you can’t joke and it kinda erases your personality. But I remember myself just this summer, when I couldn’t talk to anyone because I was so afraid to make mistakes, and comparing to me now, it’s a huge difference! I think children help you out a lot, some of them are happy to teach you some words, but depending on their age you need to check the meaning haha.
I enjoy working in my association as well. These days I have more responsibilities and also, I am not afraid to take initiative and prepare activities for children. My co-workers are nice and we support each other a lot while we’re working.
All in all, I’m excited to start preparing for Christmas and long weekend that’s coming soon, so I wish everyone reading it to have good day and wonderful holidays! See you soon.
