Llevo ocho meses viviendo en Madrid y aunque al principio tenía buenas expectativas, nunca pensé que las cosas fueran a ir tan bien en todos los aspectos. Hace poco decidí quedarme a vivir aquí después de mi voluntariado y creo que esto ya es suficiente 🙂
Por supuesto que ya estaba enamorado de España y de los españoles, pero ahora además hay el amor por la ciudad y por lo que hago en el trabajo y en la asociación.
Pero lo que creo es que la verdadera diferencia la marcan las personas. Hay muchos proyectos de este tipo en muchos países pero cada uno es único, y yo he tenido la suerte de no encontrar colegas, sino amigos. Y esto se entiende desde las pequeñas cosas: es normal compartir las horas de trabajo pero si después te vas a jugar juntos al voleibol o a tomar una cerveza, pues eso es otra cosa.
Por eso hoy no quiero agradecerme a mí mismo la elección, el compromiso y la voluntad que intento poner en este proyecto día tras día, sino a todas las personas que directa o indirectamente, consciente o inconscientemente están o han contribuido a que mi experiencia no sea una entre muchas, ¡sino una experiencia única!

I have been living in Madrid for eight months now and although at the beginning I had good expectations, I never thought things would go so well in all aspects. I recently decided to stay and live here after my volunteering, and I think this is enough 🙂
Of course, I was already in love with Spain and the Spanish people, but now there is also the love for the city and for what I do at work and in the association.
But what I think is that the real difference is made by the people. There are many projects of this type in many countries but each one is unique, and I have been lucky enough not to find colleagues, but friends. And this is understood from the little things: it is normal to share working hours, but if afterwards you go to play volleyball together or have a beer, well, that’s something else.
That’s why today I don’t want to thank myself for the choice, the commitment, and the will that I try to put in this project day after day, but to all the people who directly or indirectly, consciously or unconsciously are or have contributed to make my experience not one among many, but a unique experience!
