En este momento estoy disfrutando del sol de Andalucía mientras escribo este artículo. Lo que nos ha traído hasta aquí no han sido unas vacaciones, sino que se trata de la evaluación intermedia de la agencia nacional española que está teniendo lugar en Mollina, cerca de Málaga. Nuestro pequeño viaje empezó el lunes, cuando primero fuimos con el tren a Málaga y luego cogimos un autocoche hasta Mollina. En el camino y en la estación de tren ya nos encontramos con algunos otros voluntarios y la emoción creció mientras conducíamos a través de las hermosas montañas (o colinas), porque no sabíamos exactamente lo que nos esperaba en los próximos días.
A nuestra llegada ya me di cuenta de que iba a ser un grupo mucho más grande que, por ejemplo, durante nuestra formación a la llegada. Uno de los monitores nos enseñó el albergue, que es un terreno muy grande. Luego tuvimos tiempo para instalarnos y empezó la primera actividad, que sirvió para romper el hielo y conocer algunos nombres. Somos un grupo de 100 voluntarios así que definitivamente fue un poco abrumador ver a toda esta gente, pero poco a poco las conversaciones se hicieron más fáciles (aunque la mayoría de los nombres nos entraban por un oído y nos salían por el otro).
Después de la cena tuvimos tiempo libre, y algunos decidimos adentrarnos un poco en el pueblo y ver qué se podía hacer.
A la mañana siguiente, después del desayuno, continuaron las actividades. Ese día empezamos hablando de nuestros derechos como voluntarios y comprobamos que todo iba como debía (legalmente). Además, rompimos el hielo para empezar a conectar más entre nosotros. Por la tarde hicimos una feria sobre las regiones de España donde hacemos nuestro voluntariado, que me pareció interesante (también nos dieron comida ;). En grupos más pequeños hablamos individualmente sobre nuestros proyectos, lo que me hizo darme cuenta de todas las posibilidades que tenemos.
El miércoles fue un día más relajado pero también refrescante. La actividad de la mañana consistió en reflexionar sobre nuestra propia contribución y motivación. Después aprendimos sobre la comunicación asertiva. Y lo que más me gustó fue escuchar a los otros voluntarios y compartir nuestros problemas y dudas, me sentí muy comprendida 🙂 Más tarde en ese día tuvimos un espacio abierto donde pudimos compartir algunos conocimientos haciendo talleres para el resto del grupo, todos nos divertimos mucho allí.
Hoy jueves es el último día con actividades. Empezamos hablando sobre el Youthpass, luego sobre los aprendizajes interculturales y al final también oímos mucho sobre las oportunidades que tenemos en Europa o incluso en todo el mundo después de que termine nuestro proyecto. ¡Me dio nuevas perspectivas e ideas!
En resumen, fue una experiencia muy intensa con muchas nuevas conclusiones que pueden mejorar la última parte de nuestra estancia en Madrid.
Our time in Mollina; opening a folding fan of possibilities by sharing ideas, new projects, doubts and problems in a group of one hundred volunteers
At this very moment I‘m enjoying the sun of Andalucia while writing this article. The thing that brought us here wasn‘t just some vacations, instead it is the midterm evaluation by the spanish national agency that is taking place in Mollina close to Málaga. Our little journey started on Monday, when we first went with the train to Málaga and then took an autocar to Mollina. On the way and at the train station we already met some other volunteers and the excitement grew while driving through the beautiful mountains (or hills), because we didn‘t know what exactly was waiting for us in the upcoming days.
At our arrival I already realized that it was going to be a way bigger group than for example during our on arrival training. One of the facilitators gave us a little tour of the hotel here which is a really big terrain. Then we had some time to settle in and the first activity started, which served to break the ice and to get to know some names. We are a group of 100 volunteers so it was definitely a little bit overwhelming seeing all these people, but poco a poco the conversations felt easier (although most of the names went into one ear and out the other).
After the dinner we had free time, and some of us decided to go a little into the village and see what‘s there to do.
The next morning after breakfast the activities continued. On that day we started by talking about our rights as volunteers and check that everything is going how it should (legally). Additionally we did more icebreaking to start connecting more with eachother. In the afternoon we did a fair about the regions of Spain where we are doing our volunteering, which I found interesting (food was also provided ;). In smaller groups we talked individually about our projects which made me realize way more about all the possibilities we have.
Wednesday was a more relaxing but also refreshing day. The activity in the morning was a reflexion about our own contribution and motivation. Afterwards we learned about assertive communication. And what I liked most about it was to hear about the other volunteers and share our problems and doubts, I felt very understood 🙂 Later on that day we had an open space where we could share some knowledges by doing workshops for the rest of the group, we all had a lot of fun there.
Today Thursday is the last day with activities. We started by talking about the Youthpass then about intercultural learnings and in the end we also heard a lot about opportunities that we have in Europe or even all over the world after our project ends, It gave me some new perspectives and ideas!
All in all it was a very intense experience with a lot of new realisations that can improve the last part of our time in Madrid.
